Vidya Balan Weight Loss Diet: Samantha Ruth Prabhu held her trolls commenting on her weight loss like a boss in a live Q&A session on her Instagram live where she revealed she is on a ‘strict anti-inflammation diet’ due to her myositis condition.
Previously, Vidya Balan, too, finally broke the silence on her drastic weight loss courtesy of an ‘anti-inflammation diet’. Speaking with Gallata India, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 actress underscored that for the first time in her life, she has not worked out to shed her weight.
Both the actresses highlighted the significance of eliminating inflammatory food from their diet to avoid weight gain, which not only gives them a slimmer physique but also improves their health, as the said diet works by removing the food that does not work for their body from their diet.
But what exactly does the ‘anti-inflammatory diet’ mean and how does it work? Find out in the article.
In simple words, the name suggests a diet with a healthy eating pattern that can subsequently reduce inflammation in the body.
Inflammation is the natural response of the body to fight any threat, unwanted foreign bodies that can cause infection or illness. Just like how we fever when an illness causing bacteria enters the body. The high temperature can dismantle the infection-causing germ.
So an anti-inflammatory diet is a healthy eating plan where inflammation-causing food is reduced or removed from the diet with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory products.
Inflammation is of two types, chronic and acute. The former can cause weight gain, fatigue, and pain while the latter is the body's natural defense mechanism.
Hence by changing the diet, chronic inflammation can be reversed leading to visible weight loss as well as help in maintaining chronic diseases like diabetes, myositis, etc.
The anti-inflammatory diet consists of nutrient-dense food like grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, unprocessed food, etc. anti-inflammatory ingredients should also be incorporated.
Processed food, heavy dairy products, and sugar should be avoided.
