Merry Christmas OTT Release Date: South actor Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif’s psychological thriller film Merry Christmas is all set for its digital debut on streaming platform. The film was released on 12th January 2024 in both Hindi and Tamil languages and received a flat response from the audience, with an overall box office collection of around Rs 15 Cr. The film’s slow narrative only manged to impress the intricate audience who are more into complex storytelling.

Starring Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif in the lead, Merry Christmas will be reportedly making its venture into the OTT platform with Netflix on 8th March 2024. While the release date is yet to be finalised, reports suggest that Netflix will be premiering the movie soon. Katrina and Vijay collaborated for the first time for the murder mystery. Directed by the ‘Badlapur’ director Sriram Raghavan, ‘Merry Christmas’ has a deep story that builds up with a slow pace, that will make you feel bored initially, but the second half of the movie has made it up to the bar of becoming an intense thriller with a touch of romance.

Apart from Vijay and Katrina, the movie also stars Tinnu Raaj Anand, Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, Radhika Apte, and Ashwini Kalsekar in pivotal roles. Merry Christmas is based on the popular French novel ‘Bird In A Cage’ by Frederic Dard. It tells the story of two strangers who meet on Christmas Eve, each carrying a pool of their own secrets. Albert (Vijay Sethupathi) returns to Bombay to overcome his mother’s death with the festive spirit of Christmas, where he meets Maria (Katrina Kaif) and her daughter. Albert’s curiosity leads him deeper into Maria’s life, only to uncover mysteries and dark secrets through a timeline of events surrounding Maria.
