Weather Today: The weather will take a turn this weekend in North West India. While this week the rising temperature gave a hardship to everyone in the states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and more northern plains, there is now likely to be rain, thunderstorms, and hailstorms in part of Northwest India with heatwave conditions persisting in parts of eastern India. The mercury in the capital city is expected to dip with the prediction of rain in Delhi. The previous bulletins of the weather department issued a yellow alert for rain in the city on 13 and 14 April. The light rain will be accompanied by dust storms, gusty winds, and cloud skies on Saturday. Per the weather forecast, strong winds are expected till 18 April.

Dust storms or thunderstorms have been predicted in Rajasthan along with potential hailstorms in the state's isolated regions. An isolated hailstorm is likely over Rajasthan on 13 April.
Northern and northwestern India is expected to experience hailstorms owing to the instance of Western Disturbance and cyclonic circulation over Iran in middle & upper tropospheric westerlies. The Indian Meteorological Department said, “High moisture feeding from the Arabian Sea is likely into Northwest India during 13th-15th April” and has predicted an isolated hailstorm over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, on 13 and 14 April.

Isolated hailstorms are likely over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, and Rajasthan on 13 April. Furthermore, isolated hailstorms are likely over Uttarakhand and West Uttar Pradesh on 14 April. Wet spells with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds have been predicted in the Gangetic belt with similar weather conditions persisting in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab Haryana, and Rajasthan till 15 April.
IMD has issued a yellow alert for heatwaves in Odisha on 15 and 16 April with a press release stating “A cyclonic circulation lies over north Odisha and another over Comorin area & neighborhood in lower tropospheric levels.”

Moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is expected in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha.
