Weather Today: IMD Warns of Heavy Rainfall in Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Goa and More States

Weather Update:  Delhi will witness a short spell of rain today as the monsoon weakens in the Indian subcontinent. However heavy rain will lash parts of the country in eastern and western areas. Check the complete weather report of your states here. 

Delhi will have rainfall 

Wednesday marked a hot and humid day for the residents of Delhi with the day experiencing strong winds. The weather in the capital city however is soon to shift from hot to wet as bouts of rain are expected in Delhi and its surrounding areas. As per the India Meteorological Department, the weather will remain pleasant on 26 September with a generally cloudy sky solidifying the possibility of light rains in the areas. The temperature too will be affected by the shifting weather conditions with maximum temperatures at 34 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature being 25 degrees Celsius. The weather is expected to get back to cloudy with no rain on 27 and 28 September. 

Flood-like conditions in Mumbai 

An orange alert has been issued for Mumbai with a weather advisory asking citizens to remain safe and alert. Maharashtra is on a heavy rain alert for today with a red alert in Pune.

The leaving monsoon is troubling the residents of Mumbai, heavy rains on Wednesday resulted in flood-like situations in low-lying areas of Mumbai. The worsening weather conditions have halted the means of transportation with 14 flights diverted, local trains stopped and vehicular traffic getting further congested on the road. The weather is affecting students and academic institutions, and the state authorities have closed the schools for today as a safety measure. 

Rainfall in UP, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh… 

Heavy rain will lash many districts of Uttar Pradesh with very heavy rainfall expected in Bihar. Bihar is on an orange alert along with Saurashtra, Kutch, Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh. A low-pressure area forming over the Bay of Bengal will bring heavy rains in several districts of West Bengal and Odisha for the next couple of days. Heavy rain is expected in Madhya Pradesh. 

IMD has issued a red alert for Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and The Gujarat Region.
