Weather Today:  Heavy rainfall lashed parts of Delhi and Noida in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Heavy rain is expected in several parts of the country today including Mumbai, Haryana, Punjab, Kerala, and Goa. Check the state-wise full weather report.   

Heavy rain in Delhi, Noida 

The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Delhi on 24 and 25 July for moderate to heavy rainfall. Delhi residents witnessed heavy spells of rain in the morning on 24 July, with parts of Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Baghpat, and some more adjoining areas likely to receive moderate rainfall in the next few hours today. The rain has brought a much-needed relief from the humidity experiences in the past week. 

The temperature today will hover from 27 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius today with a “good” air quality index at a reading of 40. 

Yellow alert in Mumbai 

The financial capital of the country has been witnessing heavy rainfall for the past couple of weeks. The weather is likely to continue with moderate to heavy rainfall in Mumbai today. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai warning of moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms in isolated parts. 

Orange alert for heavy rain in several states 

Wednesday will witness heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Jharkhand.   

A red alert for isolated extremely heavy rainfall has been issued by the weather department for the Gujarat region, Saurashtra, Kutch, Goa, and Konkan on 24 July. An orange alert is in place at Chhattisgarh, Punjab, West and East Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Mahe, East Rajasthan, Haryana, Odisha, Saurashtra, Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra, Uttrakhand, predicting very heavy rainfall at isolated areas today and in the upcoming days till 26 July.      

Heavy rainfall is likely in isolated places of Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-BaltistanMuzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.
