Bengaluru Stampede: Confusion And Misinformation Lead To the Death of 11 People At Chinnaswamy Stadium

Bengaluru Stampede:  RCB lifted the IPL 2025 trophy on 4th June, a historic win in 18 years since the inception of the game format. The celebration that followed was indeed magnificent, but was dulled by the death of 11 people in the stampede.

Many are trying to pinpoint the causes of the crowd mismanagement but the time line suggests it was the mere excitement of the fans and confusions and misinformation about the victory celebration that broke into a chaos. 

The Bengaluru traffic police announced that there will be a victory parade and the celebrations will be restricted to the stadium only. But later in the day the official page of RCB social media announced a parade with stadium celebrations leading lakhs to gather around the Chinnaswamy stadium, which has the capacity of only 3500 people. 

The confusion and misinformation led to the chaos and stampede, claiming 11 lives.
