A spectacular increase has been registered in the gold reserves of the Reserve Bank of India and it has increased by 32.22 tonnes by the end of the financial year 2023-24. After this increase, by March 2023, India has a total gold reserve of 794.64 tonnes. This figure has been released by the Reserve Bank of India on Monday. Gold deposit of 56.32 tonnes is also included in this. Whereas last year till March 2022, RBI had a total of 760.42 tonnes of gold, which included 11.08 tonnes of gold deposits. In such a situation, an increase of 4.5 percent has been recorded in the gold reserve year after year.

The Reserve Bank has informed that this report is done on a half-yearly basis i.e. between October 2022 and March 2023. According to the Foreign Exchange Reserve of RBI, till March 2023, a total of 794.64 tonnes of gold was available with the Reserve Bank. Out of this, 437.22 tonnes of gold is kept safe abroad ie in Bank of England and Bank of International Settlements, while 301.10 tonnes of gold is in the country.
