Winter Skincare: Avoid These Products to Prevent Skin Problems During Cold Weather

30 Dec, 2024

Winter Skincare: The chilly air and low humidity in winter cause the skin to become dry and lifeless, necessitating special care. While some products are beneficial in treating skin disorders, others may be harmful. To keep your skin healthy, you should avoid certain products. In this video, know what products should not be applied to your skin during the winter and which practices can harm it. According to beauty expert Pooja Goel, oil-based lotions are beneficial for dry skin but should be avoided by those with oily or normal skin since they might clog pores, resulting in acne or blackheads.

Skin Products to Avoid During Winters

Multani mitti and sandalwood powder, which are commonly used for their soothing characteristics, might increase dryness by decreasing sebum production. Additionally, mineral oils and petroleum gel, although retaining moisture, can clog pores and cause acne. Potato juice, while sometimes excellent for oily skin, might further dry up skin in the winter, resulting in flakiness. Additionally, alcohol-based toners should be avoided completely because they remove moisture from the face, leaving it even drier.
