Women's Day 2021: Here are the inspiring stories of 5 women UPSC toppers
Women's Day 2021:
Women have always sidelined the obstacles and have achieved a lot in every field, be it in achieving more at academics, or making it big in life, they have done it all. And hence, on the occasion of International Women’s Day today, we have brought to you the stories of 5 Women UPSC toppers. So, let’s begin with it:
1. Purana Sundari:
Even after being visually impaired, this strong lady not only became an IAS Officer but even topped the UPSC exam. Purana from Madurai believed that clearing the UPSC exam wasn’t difficult for her. This 25-year-old woman achieved the 286th Akhil Bhartiya rank in her 4th attempt for the UPSC Civil services exam.
2. Aaishwarya Sheoran:
Being a former Miss India finalist, Aasihwarya had a dream to become an IAS officer, which she achieved after securing the 93rd rank in the UPSC exam. She aimed was to join the national services and serve the nation. There are ways for women to join the National Defence Academy but are still limited.
3. Nadia Baig:
This girl from Kashmir achieved the post of an IAS officer at the age of 23, in her second attempt. Nadia shares that she appeared for the IAS exam for the first time in 2018, and it was her first national level entrance exam, where she failed to clear the Prelims exam. But she appeared again for the exam this year and not only cleared the exam but gained the 350th rank.
4. Vishakha Yadav and Navneet Mann:
These two daughters of Delhi Police officers have secured Kramsha 6th and 33rd rank. Navneet the daughter of a Delhi Police inspector Sukhdev Singh Mann and Vishakha is the daughter of a Delhi Police Sub-Inspector Rajkumar Yadav.
5. Ruchi Bindal:
A resident of Malviya Nagar has secured the Akhil Bhartiya 40th rank in her UPSC exam. She is the best amongst those 30 students who received coaching from Avasai Coaching Academy, RCA, Jamia Milia Islamia. Ruchi aims to work for child and women welfare. Ruchi also wants to work towards improving the condition of transgender in society.
So these were some of the ladies who fought all odds to achieve what they wanted to and proved themselves.
