World News: Israel Launches Major Attack on Iran, Strikes Capital Tehran With Missiles

More Than 45,000 People Died So Far

This conflict represents a substantial escalation, following severe confrontations between Hamas and Hezbollah over the previous year. Israel has been fighting these groups ever since the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, which killed 1,200 Israelis. This extended period of violence has resulted in significant casualties, with approximately 45,000 people reported dead and widespread destruction throughout Gaza. Key people in Hamas leadership, including as Ismail Haniya and Yahya Sinwar, have also been murdered in the battle, highlighting the intensity and far-reaching consequences of these clashes.
