According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, his net worth increased by $ 5.92 billion on Monday and reached $ 130 billion. With this, he went ahead of Microsoft founder Bill Gates. Gates has slipped to number five in this list with a net worth of $129 billion. This year, Ellison's net worth has increased by $ 38 billion, while Gates' net worth has increased by only $ 19.9 billion.
Ellison stepped down as Oracle's CEO in 2014. But he did not leave the company. He then became the chairman and chief technology officer of the company. He has a 42.9 percent stake in Oracle. Oracle shares have gained 42 per cent this year. In the last financial year, the company achieved a revenue of $ 50 billion. Oracle has benefited from investing in AI.
