Born on 4 August 1993, Malavika Mohanan is a Malayalam and Tamil actor. She is the daughter of Indian cinematographer K.U Mohanan who has earned a prestigious reputation for himself in Bollywood and Malayalam industry. His popular works include ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, ‘Lagaan’ and ‘Aaja Nachle’.
Malavika has been working in the south film industry since 2013. Ravi Udyawar's directorial Yudhra marks her debut as the leading lady in Hindi film.
Malavika was determined to follow the footsteps of her father as a cinematography director for which she took up a degree in Mass Media at Wilson College in Mumbai. While she was still weighing her options for her post graduation, Mammootty recognised the potential in her when she used to accompany her father on shoots.

Accepting Mammootty’s proposal she auditioned for a role opposite Dulquer Salman, and secured the lead role in Pattam Pole in 2013, making hee Malaylam debut. She got her first Kannada debut in 2016 with Prithvi in ‘Naanu Mattu Varalakshmi’
In 2019, she worked with an ensemble cast of Rajinikanth, Vijay Sethupathi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui for her Tamil debut Petta (2019)
Malavika is garnering attention as the lady lead in Siddhant Chaturvedi’s ‘Yudhra’ however her Hindi film debut was with Ishan Kahtter in Majid Majidi's drama film Beyond the Clouds in 2017. Playing the role of his sister, she was praised for her honest portrayal of the slum dweller.
The Siddhant Chaturvedi led ‘Yudhra’ trailer is an adventure ride for those who get a thrill from gore, anger and the sprinkle of nationalism. Reprising the ‘angry young men’ trope of the 70s and 80s, Yudhra appears to be a high adrenaline pump watch.
Malavika will be soon making her Telugu debut alongside Prabhas in his upcoming horror-comedy ‘The Raja Saab’.
