Alia Bhatt will soon be seen in Sanay Leela Bhansali’s next biopic drama Gangubai Kathiwadi. In a recent interview with Jagran New Media, the actress revealed about her experience in the film, her preparation for the film; her take on trolls and much more. Alia Bhatt revealed that she always wanted to be Sanjay Leela Bhansali's actress and dreamt of working with him. Before Gangubai Kathiawadi, she discussed another film called ‘Insha allah’ but the film went back to shelf. However, when Gangubai happened, Alia was nervous initially but since she really wanted to work with the ace film director, she went ahead with the project. Alia sees working with Bhansali as a lifetime opportunity and she wanted to impress Sanjay with her work.
Alia is playing the role of a girl called Gangubai, who is sold to a brothel and eventually finds her way up to power. Alia revealed that she was assisted with diction coaching so she could make the character alive on the screen. Alia admires the character of Gangubai and sees it as a story of her struggle and achievements. Alia applauds Gangubai’s spirit for facing the challenges fearlessly. As per Alia, it was Gangubai’s positive approach towards life that made her powerful at a young age back then.
Alia Bhatt sees trolls as unreal and manufactured content. She clears that if it is someone's job to make trolls, so there is nothing to get serious about. Alia does not get affected with the troll culture. She also says that one must not live other’s opinions and should be comfortable in their skin.
Alia Bahtt revealed that she always admired Sridevi and it was a special moment when Sridevi adored her performance in the film ‘Dear Zindagi’. Dear Zindagi was directed by Gauri Shinde and Sridevi also worked with Gauri Shinde in the film English Vinglish.
