Bansuri Swaraj Biography: Sushshma Swaraj’s daughter debuting in Lok Sabha Election 2024 with BJP

Bansuri Swaraj:  The daughter of late Sushma Swaraj, Bansuri Swaraj gained prominence when her name came in the first list of candidates for Lok Sabha Election 2024 as a BJP member in Delhi. She has been appointed as the co-convener of the legal cell of BJP Delhi in 2023. She is a senior advocate at the Supreme Court.

Swaraj was born on January 3, 1984, to two political parents Sushma Swaraj, former External Affairs Minister, and Swaraj Kaushal, former Governor of Mizoram.

Bansuri Swaraj Educational Qualifications 

Swaraj is an Oxford return scholar. She was a student of English literature from the University of Warwick with an honours degree in Bachelor of Arts. She later pursued law from BPP Law School in London, followed by her  Masters of Studies from St. Catherine’s College at the University of Oxford.

Bansuri Swaraj Legal Career 

Per the W20 India Website, Swaraj has an experience of a total fifteen years in the legal profession. She was qualified as a Barrister at Law, and was called to the bar from the Hon’ble Inn of Inner Temple, London after pursuing Law academically.

In 2007, she was enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi and represented many high-profile clients in contentious litigation across various judicial fora. She has argued for disputes related to “contracts, real estate, tax, international commercial arbitrations, as well as several criminal trials.” says the website. She is also the Additional Advocate General for the State of Haryana. 

Bansuri Swaraj's Political Career 

Swaraj’s active role in Indian politics started in 2023 when she was appointed as the co-convener of BJP Delhi’s legal cell. 

In the last year, he has vocally condemned the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, which has also gained her attention in recent political upheaval.      

On getting a BJP ticket from the New Delhi constituency she also expressed her gratitude to “PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah ji, JP Nadda ji and every BJP worker” for giving her the opportunity.
