Amala Paul Career

Amala Paul made her acting debut in the Malayalam-language film Neelathamara as a supporting actress. She garnered critical recognition for portraying a contentious figure in the film Sindhu Samaveli after appearing in supporting roles in Malayalam Neelathamara and Veerasekaran in Tamil. Despite the failure of this film, Amala established herself after portraying the title part in Mynaa, for which she received critical acclaim.

Lal Jose offered her a supporting role in his film "Neelathamara" after she finished her studies (2009). Paul went on to play Sundari, who has an illicit relationship with her father-in-law, in Samy’s controversial "Sindhu Samaveli" (2010). She was approached after most of her next release, "Mynaa," was completed, and signed on for Sindhu Samaveli before hearing the entire narrative, claiming that she was astonished but not outraged by the controversial sequences she eventually heard.

The romantic drama movie "Mynaa" (2010) by Prabhu Solomon, Paul’s subsequent release, established her as a respected actor in the business. Prior to its release, the movie was much anticipated. Notable distributors Udhayanidhi Stalin and Kalpathi S. Aghoram bought the rights to the movie after being impressed with it. Paul portrayed Mynaa, the rural beauty. The movie was a financial success. In addition to receiving nominations for Best Actress at the Filmfare Awards and the Vijay Awards, Paul won the Vijay Award for Best Debut Actress.

Amala Paul stage name

Amala had changed her on-screen name to Anakha at the request of director Samy, who pointed out that another actress, Amala, had already made her name famous. She restored to her birth name after the failure of her 2011 film Sindhu Samaveli, believing that the replacement had brought her bad luck.

Amala Paul Relationship

Amala was romantically linked to director A. L. Vijay as early as 2011 when she was shooting on the film Deiva Thirumagal, although she steadfastly denied they were dating. She proposed to Vijay in Aluva in Kochi on June 7, 2014. On June 12, 2014, the couple got hitched at Chennai’s Mayor Ramanathan Chettiar Hall. Amala and Vijay filed for divorce in 2016 as a result of their differences with her in-laws on the continuation of her performing career. Their divorce was finalised in 2017.
