CEC Rajic Kumar Retirement: India’s 25th Chief Electoral Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has retired from his chair after a successful term of four and a half years. In his retirement speech, Kumar emphasizes key electoral issues like measures to ensure vote secrecy, the use of AI in vote management, using technology to make remote voting a possibility for distant voters, and the prevalent trends of fake news and digital misinformation.
He also condemned the political parties for blaming them. He urged political parties to stop promising freebies and called for financial transparency in election expenses by the Election Commission when the results are not in their favor. He further talked about the use of AI and biometrics making remote voting a possibility and the use of totalizer machines to maintain vote secrecy.
