Double attack of Corona and H3N2; government issues notice

The number of Covid cases in India is once more rising. According to data from the Union health ministry, India’s COVID-19 case count reached 800 after 126 days on Saturday, while the number of active cases increased to 5,389 cases. 

H3N2 and Corona cases rising

H3N2 and Corona combined have the potential to be exceedingly devastating. The number of H3N2 influenza cases has rapidly grown. The first fatality brought on by this virus has occurred in the nation. As the H3N2 flu is affecting people of all ages, tensions are rising due to an increase in corona cases.

Government issued advisory to states

The Union Health Ministry has advised states and union territories to adhere to all influenza-like illness standards. The government also urged that states assess the readiness of hospitals. In addition, instructions have been issued on the supply of medicines and medical oxygen, as well as vaccination against Covid-19 and influenza. Doctors have also been recommended to use masks due to an increase in instances.

Maharashtra, Delhi on high alert

Saurabh Bhardwaj, the health minister for Delhi, recommended people to avoid crowded areas due to the country’s rising H3N2 and Covid-19 influenza outbreaks. He said that government hospitals see fewer instances. In addition to 8–10 additional facilities, Lok Nayak Hospital has seen 20 cases of influenza. Also, the administration instructed each area to keep an eye out for Kovid-19 and influenza outbreaks. The Maharashtra government has issued an alert to all hospitals in the state due to the increasing number of cases of H3N2 influenza. Individuals should avoid congested areas, wear masks, and maintain social distance.
