Chamkila OTT Release Date: One of the finest directors in Bollywood Imtiaz Ali is all set to make your heartbeat louder with his upcoming directorial ‘Chamkila’ starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles. The first look of the movie was shared by the makers last year in May, unveiling the teaser. The movie is all set to release digitally this year, sharing the untold story of the musical legend Amar Singh Chamkila and his journey of becoming one of the sensational musicians of India. Streaming platform netflix shared the release date and new poster details on its social media, enticing more anticipation amongst audience.

Unveiling the new poster and premier details on social media, Netflix shared the update regarding the Imtiaz Ali-directed musical-biographical drama, and wrote, “Maahaul bann jaata tha jab vo chedta tha saaz, kuch aisa hi tha Chamkila ka Andaaz.” The movie will be narrating the story of Amar Singh Chamkila and his wife Amarjot Kaur. Known as the “Elvis Presley of Punjab,” Amar Singh Chamkila is considered as one of the most recognised punjabi folk singer of his time, who wrote several songs on extramarital affairs, drugs, and patriarchy in Punjab. The singer, along with his wife Amarjot, and other members of their band were shot dead by an unidentified group of young boys. The movie will dive deeper into the lives and his musical journey and its impact on Punjab’s society.

Chamkila Movie Cast, Trailer, Streaming Platform
Premiering on OTT platform Netflix, ‘Chamkila’ will be releasing on 12th April, 2024 officially on the streaming platform. The trailer of the movie is yet to be be released, with actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh playing the titular character, and actress Parineeti Chopra will be portraying the role of his wife Amarjot. This is Diljit’s first collaboration with Imtiaz and Parineeti Chopra, and the movie will mark Imtiaz Ali’s comeback after his 2020 film ‘Love Aaj Kal 2’. The music is created by AR Rahman and the lyrics are written by Irshad Kamli. Parineeti and Diljit have also lent their voices in the songs. The movie is all set to ignite the musical emotions of fans with the influence of Imtiaz-Rahman-Irshad and the raw, intrigued performances by the Pari and Diljit.
