Chhaava Box Office Collection: The Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava has been soaring high at the box office since its release on 14 February. After a series of successes and record numbers, the film hit its first drop in expected earnings on Wednesday. The historical period drama based on the life and death of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been loved by the audience for its striking portrayal of the rich Marathi history and strong performances by the lead cast, including Kaushal as Sambhaji Maharaj and Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale.
The data revealed by Sacnilk show that the second Wednesday brought the first low of the film’s ever rising success by a margin of fifty percent.
The film earned a total of Rs. 11.67 crores on its second Thursday, in contrast to its previous day's earning of Rs. 23 crores at the box office on 26 February, the second Wednesday of the film release.
The week 2 earnings so far position Chhaava's net collection at Rs. 399.5 crore, only a little away from entering the Rs. 400 crore mark.
The film opened at the box office at Rs. 31 crore and minted Rs. 219 crore in just the first week of its release. The first Thursday of the film recorded a collection of Rs. 21.5 crore, with the second week’s net earning standing at Rs. 180.25 crore.
Worldwide, the film earned Rs. 80 crore on the second Thursday raising its gross collection to Rs. 558.10 crore.
Mumbai still holds the dominance in the most theater occupancy of the film.
Chhaava is so far the biggest film of the year 2025. The audience was eagerly anticipating seeing Kaushal in the titular role of Sambhaji Maharaj, as he has undergone a drastic physical transformation for the role.
His evocative performance and strong hold on the character has been applauded by the fans who were moved emotionally after watching the film.
The backbone of the film is its supporting cast, including Akshaye Khanna as the Mughal Villain Auragzeb and intense performances by Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Divya Dutta. The film is based on a Marathi novel by Shivaji Sawant of the same name.
