Chhaava Box Office Collection: Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ continues to roar in cinemas, with impressive box office earnings that continue to soar high. The movie has paved the way for the Hindi film industry, with a terrific beginning of 2025. With its massive 4-day record-breaking numbers at the box office charts, Chhaava has become one of the highest-grossing historical movies of the Indian film industry, and the biggest Bollywood grosser of this year. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava tells the story of the fearless Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the second Maratha King and the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of Maratha Kingdom. Vicky Kaushal plays the role of Sambhaji Maharaj in the movie.
Following a spectacular opening weekend, Vicky Kaushal’s movie effortlessly passed the first Monday test, earning nearly twice as much as the seven highest-grossing Hindi films of the year on their respective first Mondays, including Deva, Sky Force, Loveyapa, Azaad, Emergency, Fateh, and Badass Ravikumar. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, despite a 50.52 percent decline from its Sunday earnings of Rs 48.5 crore, ‘Chhaava’ made an astounding India nett collection of Rs 24 crore on Monday. With this, the film’s domestic total reached a whopping Rs 140.5 crore, while its global earnings totaled Rs 164.75 crore.

During the day, the historical drama had an excellent total occupancy rate of 31.62% in the Hindi market. While morning shows began with 17.80 percent occupancy, the rate grew to 27.11 percent in the afternoon, 34.12 percent in the evening, and 47.46 percent for night screenings.
Released on 14th February on Valentine’s Day, the movie is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Productions, and stars Vicky Kaushal as Sambhaji Maharaj, Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai, and Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb. Vineet Kumar Singh, Divya Dutta, Diana Penty, and Ashutosh Rana also play significant roles in the movie. The film has received positive reviews from both critics and audiences, especially praising Akshaye Khanna’s intense acting that made every scene more intriguing. Apart from giving Vicky Kaushal a terrific comeback, Chhaava is the fourth consecutive theatrical hit of Rashmika Mandanna following Varisu (2023), Animal (2023), and Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024).
