Chhaava Box Office Collection:  Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava is en route to be a historic film of his career with a non-stopping box office collection. Only after 5 days of its release, the period drama is set to be the biggest hit of 2025 so far with its ever-emerging box office numbers. 

Audiences have hailed Vicky Kaushal for his performance as the great Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj honoring his bravery and courage. 

Chhaava helmed by Laxamn Utekar made a new mark on Tuesday with its weekday earnings crossing the Rs. 25 crore mark on just the fifth day of the release. The film was released in theaters on 14 February. 

Chhaava Box Office Day 5

The sudden plunge in the box office collection of Chhaava on Monday made many wonder if this is where the rise of the film’s success will falter, but the historical drama emerged triumphant on Tuesday with a collection of Rs 25 crores approximately on Tuesday, also making it a glorious number for a weekday earning. 

As per the reports of Sacnilk, Chhaava made a collection of Rs. 165.75 crore nett. In India on Tuesday with a worldwide collection of Rs. 30 crore so far easily pushing the film into a Rs. 200-crore club with a gross collection of Rs. 228.85 crore till Tuesday. 

2025’s Highest Grosser So Far

Rashmika Mandanna and Vicky Kaushal’s film hence becomes the first film of 2025 to enter the Rs. 200 crore club, and also becoming the highest grosser film of the year so far leaving behind the record of Rs. 168 crore of Skyforce. 

The rising popularity of the film and the tremendous audience response have been evident in the viral videos of public reactions after watching the film. From the moments of pride and revelry of celebrating the Martha ruler, the movie-goers have also been devotedly emotional about Sambhaji Maharaj and his nuanced portrayal on the screen. 

This has also compelled the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to request the Maharashtra government to make the film tax-free. FWICE has urged in a letter to the state government highlighting the historical and cultural significance of the film, saying that the tax exemption will make it more accessible to the likes of students and historians.
