Chhaava: Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s period drama film is making waves at the box office with more than Rs. 150 crore in its collection over a period of just 5 days since its release on 14 February. Everyone knows that Chhaava is a spectacular success, but what made the film such a huge hit? Let’s decode. Here are three factors that led to the success of Chhaava.
First, an interesting and entertaining plot. Chhaava is based on a Marathi novel of the same name by Shivaji Sawant about the eldest son of Shivaji Maharaj, named Sambhaji Maharaj.
The second factor was avoiding any and all box office clashes. Chhaava was slated to release in December 2025 however it was clashing with Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rising, so the makers decided to push the film release to February 2025 ensuring that no missteps affected the popularity of the film.
The final reason for Chhaava’s success is the “Rashmika factor”. Rashmika Mandanna plays the role of Yesubai, the wife of Sambhaji Maharaj in the film. Many believe that the stars of Mandanna are in her utmost favour given her hat-trick of the third consecutive blockbuster hit after Animal and Pushpa 2.
