Captain Fatima Wasim, the first woman medical officer at Siachen 

Captain Fatima Wasim has become the first woman medical officer to be deployed on an operational post on the world’s highest battlefield, Siachen Glacier. Fatima trained at the Siachen Battle School. She has become the second woman officer at Siachen after Gitika Kaul. 

Pushpa Bharti has been awarded the Vyas Samman 23 for her memoir  

Accomplished Hindi writer Pushpa Bharti has been honored with the 33rd Vyas Samman 2023 for her 2016 memoir, “Yaadein, Yaadein aur Yaadein”  Vyas Samman is a literary award which started in 1991 for the first time. 

Kabir Bedi was awarded the highest civilian award in Italy 

Kabir Bedi has been honored with the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, the highest civilian award in Italy. The award was established in 1951 and is popularly known as ‘Merito della Repubblica Italiana.’

Afghanistan-based NGO awarded the International Equality Prize 

Finland has awarded the International Gender Equality Prize for 2023 to an NGO in Afghanistan. The NGO gives shelter and protection to women and works towards protecting women’s rights in the country.  

Nahida Akhtar becomes the ICC Women’s Player of the Month

She is a left-arm spinner from Bangladesh and has been announced as the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for November. She has become the first Bangladeshi woman to win this award.

Suryakumar becomes the fastest batter to complete 2000 runs in the shortest format, in terms of the balls taken. He has achieved the record in 1164 balls in the shortest format of the game.
