Early Life & Education
On September 13, 1959, Rajeev Shukla was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He received his education at Christ Church College and Pandit Prithi Nath College in Kanpur. After that, he attended Vikramajit Singh Sanatan Dharma College in Kanpur to study law.
Rajeev Shukla Political Career
Prior to going into politics, he worked as a reporter for the Hindi daily Jansatta and was friends with Deepa Saxena, with whom he shared the stage. Shukla remained in this position until 1985, when he joined Ravivar Magazine as a special correspondent. He was employed as a senior editor and remained there till 2000, when he was elected to the Rajya Sabha. He is currently a member of the Indian National Congress.
Rajeev Shukla rose through the ranks of the BCCI, one of the most influential sports organisations in the world, and played a pivotal role in the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association. When Rajeev Shukla was named Chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2011, it was his most notable role in cricket. In 2013, he took a temporary leave of absence due to controversy. In 2015, he finally took up the position again. Following a Supreme Court decision that allowed politicians to resume their roles in cricket administration, Rajeev Shukla was appointed vice president of the BCCI in 2020.

Rajeev Shukla is married to Anurradha Prasad, Ravi Shankar Prasad’s sister, and the managing director of B.A.G. Films and Media Limited. They both have a daughter named Vaanya Shukla.
Rajeev Shukla to Be The New BCCI President
One of the most well-known figures in cricket history is Roger Binny. Binny was born in Mysore on July 19, 1955, and played a significant role in the team that won the World Cup in 1983. He is the first Scottish-born Anglo-Indian to represent India in cricket. On October 18, 2022, Roger Binny assumed the role of BCCI President. He formerly served as the Karnataka State Cricket Association's president for three years, from October 3, 2019, to October 18, 2022.
Since no one can maintain any position after attaining the age of 70 years, as stated in the board’s constitution, Roger Binny will shortly retire from his role as BCCI Chief, having turned 70 this year. Shukla will have to chair all General Body and Apex Council meetings after Binny steps down as president.
