On Tuesday, Finland joined NATO as its 31st member, a historic development that prompted an irate threat from the Kremlin of "countermeasures." The complete invasion of Ukraine by Moscow last year changed the security environment in Europe and led Finland and its neighbour Sweden to abandon their long-standing policy of military non-alignment. 

 

 

On Monday, the renowned Banarasi Paan was given a geographical indication (GI) classification. This label indicates that goods from a particular region have characteristics unique to that region. Banarasi Langda Mango, Ramnagar Bhanta (Brinjal), and Adamchini Rice are three more Varanasi-based goods that have gained the GI label in addition to the Banarasi Paan, according to Padma Awardee GI expert Dr. Rajinikant. Since this breakthrough, 22 GI-tagged items are currently available in the Kashi region.

 

 

On Tuesday, the privately owned space vehicle manufacturer Skyroot Aerospace conducted a 200-second test firing of its 3D-printed Dhawan II engine. For its bigger vehicle, Vikram II, the company developed the engine.In November of last year, Skyroot successfully completed its first sub-orbital flight, in which the launch vehicle barely makes it into space and cannot move quickly enough to enter an orbit around the Earth.
