Transgenders now on OBC list in Madhya Pradesh

The Shivraj Singh Chouhan cabinet accepted the inclusion of transgender people in Madhya Pradesh's OBC list on Tuesday, making it a significant decision in an election year. Vishwas Sarang, the minister for medical education, gave a press conference following the cabinet meeting and said that the Supreme Court recently recognised transgender people as belonging to the third gender and ordered that their community be given preference in hiring and educational institutions.
 

Tamil Nadu govt gives a nod to Bill banning online gambling

Following state governor RN Ravi's approval of the bill, the Tamil Nadu government on Monday notified the public that it will prohibit online gambling and regulate online games.After several months of waiting and with Governor RN Ravi's approval, the bill was finally published in the Government Gazette.
