The first nuclear power plant in North India would be built in Gorakhpur, Haryana, according to Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Saturday. He claimed that one of the major accomplishments under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership would be the installation of nuclear and atomic energy plants across the nation, which had previously been largely restricted to states in the south like Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh as well as western Maharashtra. “Gorakhpur Haryana Anu Vidyut Pariyojana’s(GHAVP) having two units of 700 MWe capacity each of Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) indigenous design is under implementation near Gorakhpur village in Fatehabad district in Haryana. Till date, an amount of ₹4,906 Cr has been spent out of total allocated funds 20,594 Cr.
India's participation at the Asia Mixed Team Championships in badminton is over. In the semifinal match against China, the P.V. Sindhu-led team lost 3-2 and had to settle for the bronze medal. H.S. Prannoy, ranked ninth in the world, and Sindhu both lost their singles matches. Dhruv Kapila and Chirag Shetty, a men's doubles team, prevailed in the match to keep India in the match. The fourth edition of the biennial training exercise DUSTLIK (2023) will be held in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, from Monday through March 5, 2023, as part of a military-to-military exchange programme between the Indian Army and the Uzbekistan Army. The 14th Battalion, The GARHWAL RIFLES, a unit under Western Command, will participate in this bilateral exercise on behalf of the Indian contingent. Soldiers from the Uzbekistan Army's North Western Military District will serve as its representatives. Increasing military capability to conduct multi-domain operations in a sub-conventional setting under United Nations Mandate is the goal of this joint exercise.
