India approves purchase of 70 HTT-40 basic trainer aircraft 

The Union Cabinet authorised the purchase from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited of 70 HTT-40 basic trainer aircraft (HAL). The Indian Air Force received authorisation (IAF). The estimated cost of the purchase is Rs 6,828 crore. The delivery of the aircraft will take place over a six-year period. The plane is anticipated to fill the IAF's need for basic trainer aircraft for new pilot induction training. As an indigenous solution, the aircraft can be upgraded to meet the IAF's cutting-edge requirements. The purchase will comprise simulators, training tools, and related equipment. 
 

PM Modi To Inaugurate 3-Day Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi 

The premier conference on geopolitics and geo-strategy, the annual Raisina Dialogue, is starting its eighth edition in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the yearly Raisina Dialogue. From March 2 to March 4, 2023, the event will be put on by the Foreign Ministry in association with the Observer Research Foundation. Giorgia Meloni, the prime minister of Italy, will be the event's principal guest and keynote speaker.
 

ACF confers Grandmaster D Gukesh with Player-of-the-Year award 

The Asian Chess Federation (ACF) has honored Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh with the Player-of-the-Year award for winning the gold medal at the 44th Chess Olympiad in Mahabalipuram last year with a record-breaking score of 9/11. Gukesh became the youngest Grandmaster from India to have an Elo rating above 2700 in March of last year, making him only the sixth Indian to do so.
