Captain Gitika Kaul is the first woman medical officer deployed at Siachen. 

Captain of the Snow Leopard Brigade created history by becoming the first woman medical officer to be deployed at the world’s highest battlefield, Siachen. She has completed her rigorous induction training at the prestigious Siachen Battle School.    

Vaishali Reshambabu is the third Indian woman to win the grandmaster title. 

Reshambabu is the 84th grandmaster of India. She won the IV El Llobregat Open in Spain with 2500 rating points. She is the only woman after Koneru Humpy and Harika Dronavalli to achieve this title. Vaishali and her brother Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa, are the first brother-sister pair in history to both hold Grandmaster titles.   

Mamata Banerjee inaugurated a museum in the state Legislative Assembly. 

West Bengal’s CM Mamata Banerjee has inaugurated a museum in the basement of the Platinum Jubilee Memorial building. Spread over 2000 sq. feet, this museum displays the rich history of the Assembly, its origin, the functioning of the Assembly and pre-Independence days, and the transfer of power from the British.  

5 December is celebrated as the World Soil Day annually. 

The objective of the day is to spread awareness about the importance of soil. The theme for this year was ‘Soil and Water: A Source of Life’.  

PM Modi unveiled the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji in Maharashtra.  

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the event organized on Navy Day 2023 and unveiled the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji at Sindhudurg, Maharashtra.
