Cyber Crime News: Hackers Defradued Company’s Payment Gateway, Stole Worth Rs 16,000 Cr

Cyber Fraud News:  Cyber fraud is the most prevalent form of internet scam that recently preyed on numerous people and businesses and is using a variety of techniques and strategies to dupe millions. This time, however, a case has come to light in which hackers compromised the payment gateway itself and stole over Rs 16,000 crores. The incident is from Maharashtra, and the Thane Police filed an FIR stating that hackers had gained access to a payment gateway service provider company’s account and had taken money out of various bank accounts.

 

Police in Search of Cyber Criminals 

According to a complaint registered in April, hackers took Rs 25 crore, but as the inquiry advanced, it was determined that cyber crooks stole Rs 16,180 crore. Following a report from a Thane crime branch officer, Naupada police have charged Sanjay Singh, Amol Andale, Sameer Dighe, Jitendra Pandey, and another unnamed individual with violating the provisions of the Information Technology Act and violating Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code. There have been no arrests in the case as of now.
