Samajwadi Party has saved its stronghold by registering victory in Mainpuri Bypoll of Uttar Pradesh. SP candidate and Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav has won this seat by a margin of about two lakh votes. On the other hand, BJP candidate Raghuraj Singh Sakya had to face defeat at the booth of his own village. Dimple Yadav has maintained the lead since the counting of votes started in Mainpuri. With each round of counting, the margin of Dimple Yadav's lead kept increasing. Which became difficult for Raghuraj to bridge. Raghuraj Singh Shakya did not get an edge even at the booth of his village Dholpur Kheda. He got 187 votes less than Dimple Yadav at the booth of his village. After which Dimple Yadav's victory was confirmed.
