Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on a three-day visit to Egypt, why is the visit important? , IAF | India

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is reaching Egypt on a three-day visit. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who visited this country with 70 oldest pyramids in the world, himself tweeted that he would be on a three-day visit to Egypt. He also said that he is looking forward to discussing with his counterpart General Mohammad Ahmed Zaki to further strengthen the defense cooperation between the two countries. During this, both the ministers will review bilateral defense ties. During his visit, Rajnath Singh will also meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Reason for visiting Egypt

The ministry said the two sides will review bilateral defense ties and explore new ways to enhance connectivity between the armies of the two countries and emphasize on deepening cooperation between the defense industries of the two countries. 

The Defense Ministry said in a statement, "The Minister of Defense will also meet with the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El Sisi. Singh's visit is aimed at further deepening defense cooperation and the special friendship between India and Egypt.

More than 50 Indian companies working in Egypt

Egypt is one of the largest investment destinations in India. Presently more than 50 companies of India are working in Egypt, which is creating about 40 thousand jobs. These companies are in agriculture, chemicals, clothing, energy, automotive and other important sectors. As far as the defense sector is concerned, India's defense cooperation with Egypt has grown significantly in recent decades. The Indian Air Force has also given training to Egyptian pilots. India and Egypt also jointly built the Helen 300 fighter jet plane.
