Delhi Elections 2025 Live: The BJP defeated the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi elections, effectively ending Arvind Kejriwal's government. The AAP lost its third consecutive administration, and Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Satyendra Jain were unable to save their seats as well. Parvesh Verma of the BJP defeated Kejriwal for the New Delhi seat. Parvesh Verma is expected to become Delhi’s next Chief Minister.
The new Chief Minister would receive a monthly remuneration of Rs 1,70,000. According to the Delhi Assembly website, the Chief Minister of Delhi receives a monthly salary of Rs 60,000, a 30,000 constituency allowance, Rs 25000 secretarial support allowance, and Rs 10,000 hospitality allowance. Apart from this, a daily allowance of Rs 1500 is provided during the period. The Chief Minister of Delhi also receives a one-time allocation of Rs 1,00,000 lakh to purchase laptops, personal computers, printers, mobile phones, and other items. In addition, a conveyance advance of up to 12 lakh is offered.
