Perception of marriage and divorce in society 

Talking about the larger social perception of the world towards marriage she elaborates that the matrimonial status comes with numerous visible and invisible privileges from prestige to finances. On the other hand divorce, is still a taboo with negative connotations. 

Legally however the terms are becoming more expansive where divorce is sanctioned on grounds of mental cruelty and ‘no fault divorce’.
