Exclusive Interview: IPS Officer Anukriti Sharma is making waves in the Indian Police Administration with her empathetic approach to crimes, victims and the awareness of law in the country. In her exclusive interview, she shares her journey of leaving her PhD in America, and moving back to India to attempt IAS exams. Why do you ask? Because she wanted to serve her country, and work with the people on ground level to improve the basic standard of living of an average Indian citizen.

Awareness, and sensitisation of law 

Speaking about the crime rate against women, followed by the hesitant society which avoids reporting the crimes violating women she underscored two significant lacks, i.e, lack of awareness about the laws and the lack of sensitivity in the society and the police force as well. Notably, she also argued that this lack of awareness also leads to manipulation of laws, where the males of the society are using women to win personal battles like land disagreements. 

In her view, women are also vulnerable due to a lack of financial stability.
