Manmohan Singh Death:  The former Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh passed away on Thursday at AIIMS, Delhi. He was brought to the hospital in a critical condition, and despite the toil of the medical staff to save him, he did not make it. The cause of his death was not immediately known.

Cause of death?

The cause of death of the former Prime Minister is still unknown however, sources claim that he was brought to the All India Institute of Medical Science after he complained of “extreme breathlessness”. AIIMS gave him admittance into the ICU at around 8 pm, while the news of his demise was first shared by Priyanka Gandhi’s husband Robert Vadra. He shared a condolence post on his official Facebook handle.        

Manmohan Singh's Contribution 

One of the highly prestigious leaders of the Indian government, Dr. Singh was a prolific economist credited with boosting the Indian economy like no other leader during his long and esteemed tenure from 2004 to 2014. 

He came to recognition as the chief economic adviser in the Ministry of Finance in 1972. His role in opening the Indian economy to the world, under India’s economic liberalization in 1991 is most coveted making it a turning point for the country's economy. 

He was a loved statesman, known for his calm demeanor, and solid integrity. Before taking office as the 13th Prime Minister of India, he was a Governor of the Reserve Bank of India from 1982 to 1985. He also served as the Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India.
