Things started getting complicated when Ankit Chauhan, a hotel chain businessman, started meddling more and more in Mahi’s life. Troubled by his behavior, Mahi planned to remove him from her path with the help of her lover, Deep Kanpal. She scheduled his birthday on July 8 and approached a Snake Charmer to eliminate him. However, the plan did not succeed because the snake he bought was less venomous, requiring a change in tactics. Ankit was eventually killed by a cobra bite on the evening of July 14, after the combination of sleeping medications and alcohol.
