Hajj Pilgrims Death: There is severe heat in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, which has claimed the lives of over 1300 Haj pilgrims this year. The deceased pilgrims include a large number of Indian Haj pilgrims who had traveled to Saudi Arabia for Haj sometime before. According to reports, 95 pilgrims are being treated in hospitals, with some being airlifted to the capital, Riyadh.

16 Lakh People From 22 Countries Performed Hajj 2024

According to Saudi Hajj officials, more than 18.3 lakh Muslims performed Hajj in 2024. This included over 16 lakh people from 22 countries, as well as 2,222,000 Saudi citizens and residents. The majority of the deaths occurred in Mecca's Al-Maisam area. Egypt has sent over 50,000 registered pilgrims to Saudi Arabia this year. Saudi Arabia has expelled these people who entered Mecca illegally. Despite this, many people made it to Mecca by foot.
