  • Paresh Rawal, who is called the king of comedy, was born on 30 May 1955 in Mumbai. He completed his studies from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics located in Vile Parle, Mumbai and got an engineering degree.

  • Before Paresh Rawal started acting, he was a regular performer at Bhaidas Auditorium besides NM College.

  • Paresh Rawal started his acting career in 1982 with the Gujarati film 'Naseeb Ni Balihari'. After this, in 1984, he also started his journey in Bollywood with the film 'Holi'.

  • Paresh Rawal married Swaroop Sampat, who was crowned Miss India in 1979

  • Paresh Rawal started his career as a villain, not as a comedian. He worked as a stock villain in more than a 100 films throughout the ‘80s and the ‘90s before finally making a name for himself for his comic touch playing twins in Andaz Apna Apna (1994).

  • Apart from Hindi cinema, Paresh has also worked in films made in Gujarati, Telugu and English languages. He has won many honors in his career like National Award, Filmfare Awards and Padma Shri Award.

  • He became a producer with OMG – Oh My God! converting his own celebrated Hindi play, Kishan vs Kanhaiya into a film.

  • He was a member of parliament in the Lok Sabha of the Indian Parliament from BJP representing the Ahmedabad East constituency from 2014 to 2019.
