Haryana Polls Result: BJP Celebrates Its Victory With A Box of Jalebi Delivered To Rahul Gandhi

Haryana Polls:  The victory of PM Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party in the Haryana Polls 2024 has turned into a sweet banter between Congress, which was away from winning by a short margin. Indian sweet dessert, Jalebi turned into a political symbol in the gamut of elections where the leader of both parties used it as a metaphor during their campaigning. 

Is Jalebi the new political currency? 

Rajiv Gandhi mentioned the famous Matu Ram Jalebi as a metaphor to increase employment banking upon the popularity of the delicacies. The internet however was quick to criticize his idea saying that Jalebi is best-savored fresh and not factory-made. PM Modi too was heard referring to the jalebi in his speech. Post BJP’s victory in the Haryana polls, the party leaders at Haryana wittingly sent a box of jalebi to Rahul Gandhi’s residence culminating the ongoing row on jalebi.
