HBO leaves Disney: In a rush to complete your favorite series like ‘Games of Thrones’ and ‘The Succession’ ever since Disney ending ties with HBO surfaced? Say no more because we found you the best alternative where you can stream HBO contents from April 1.The uninitiated HBO lovers received some terrible news on March 8, 2023, as Disney Plus Hotstar, one of the biggest online streaming services, tweeted the less-than-impressive news. Days earlier, Disney CEO Bob Iger had spoken on cost-cutting measures and reorganizing the business's structure and operations. The announcement came as a shock to Indian fans, especially since the streamer was the only place where HBO content could be viewed as it is not directly available in the nation.

Disney ends ties with HBO

Earlier on March 8th 2023, Disney hotstar on its Twitter handle stated ending ties with HBO and wrote "Starting 31st March, HBO content will be unavailable on Disney+ Hotstar. You can continue enjoying Disney+ Hotstar's vast library of content spanning over 100,000 hours of TV Shows and Movies in 10 languages and coverage of major global sporting events." HBO enjoys some of the most loyal fandom all over the globe with India being one of the top streamer for the shows like Games of Thrones, Big Little lies, Succession, Chernobyl etc. Up to the end of the month, Hotstar will offer all of the HBO programming.

How to stream HBO contents in India

For those who are unaware, Amazon and HBO announced an agreement back in December 2022 wherein users can subscribe to HBO Max within the Prime Video app in some limited area Since India has no access to HBO Max option, here is how you can watch HBO contents in India. 

Officially streaming HBO contents in India is not possible however through premium VPN subscriptions the contents can be made available on various streaming sites like Amazon and Hulu. Please note that the free VPN option won’t work and only subscription based options can let you have access to HBO Max contents.
