The wedding season is starting after Makar Sankranti. In the new year, from January 15, couples looking forward to marriage across the country will tie the knot. This time this wedding season is going to last till June, due to which not only the families involved in the preparations for marriages are happy but also the traders across the country are excited. According to the Confederation of All India Traders (Cait), this time around 70 lakh marriages will take place across the country. While money will also be shed like water in wedding functions and shopping.

According to CAT, according to an estimate, in these 70 lakh marriages, there is an estimated business of more than Rs 13 lakh crore in this season. National President of CAT BC Bhartia and National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that in Delhi alone more than 8 lakh marriages are estimated to take place in this season due to which there is a possibility of business of about Rs 1.25 lakh crore in Delhi itself. Whereas in the month of November to December last year, about 32 lakh marriages took place in the marriage phase and business of more than Rs 3.75 lakh crore was done.
