How will Adani transform Dharavi, Redevelopment Project for Rs 5,069 crore

Adani Group has acquired the redevelopment project of Dharavi. Mumbai's Dharavi is one of the largest slums in Asia. According to sources, Adani Properties bid Rs 5,069 crore as its investment in the project, making it the highest bidder. Adani Group along with DLF and Naman Group had floated the tender for Dharavi redevelopment. Among them, Naman Group's tender was rejected on technical grounds.

Head of Dharavi redevelopment project gives statement

Head of Dharavi Redevelopment Project SVR Srinivas said that we received three tenders for Dharavi redevelopment. We opened the financial tender filed by Adani and DLF Company. The third company, Naman Group, was eliminated in the technical tender. Adani Group had bid Rs 5,069 crore in the tender. Whereas, DLF Company had placed a bid of Rs 2,025 crore. He said that further action will be taken as per the orders of the state government.

58,000 families in Dharavi

Dharavi in Mumbai is the richest populated area of Asia. Most of it has slums. In this context, it is called Asia's largest slum area. In which about 58,000 families live. While there are about 12,000 commercial establishments here. For the last two decades, the Maharashtra government was talking about the development of this area. On October 18, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis signed a 'Definitive Agreement' for this purpose.
