A new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-liter NA petrol engine are both available for the Hyundai Verna of the next generation. The latter engine—a brand-new T-GDi in the company's lineup—produces 158 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque in contrast to the NA motor's 113 horsepower and 144 pound-feet of torque. The three major gearbox types available are an IVT, a seven-speed DCT, and a six-speed manual gearbox. A 1.5-liter diesel engine is no longer offered.
