IAS Topper 2019 Success Story: It is always said, “try and try until you succeed.” And the same strategy was followed by Nupur Goel who never lose hope after failing 5 times while attempting for her UPSC Civil Services Exam. A resident of Narela, Delhi, Nupur Goel always wanted to become an IAS officer after completing her graduation in B.Tech from DTU and Masters MA in Public Administration.
While pursuing her final year of Masters, one of her colleagues introduced Nupur Goel to the UPSC Civil Services. And it was then she decided to pursue UPSC to become an IAS Officer, and due to this, Nupur didn’t even go for the placement drive in the final year of her Master’s degree.
Moreover, in the last year of her college, Nupur decided to give the first attempt of her IAS exam in 2014. And to which, she cleared all the levels and went up to the Interview round. But unfortunately, Nupur couldn’t make up for the final cut-off and failed at her first IAS attempt. During her first attempt, Nupur made it to the Interview round which boosted her self-confidence a lot, and she believed that she will crack the IAS exam on the first attempt, so she didn’t prepare for her next attempt. Nupur failed her second attempt too as she couldn’t clear her Prelims exam too due to the lack of preparation. But Nupur’s parents kept her going.
After messing up with the second attempt, Nupur prepared well for her third attempt but couldn’t make it to the best due to fewer marks in her interview round. After failing for the third time, Nupur gave her fourth attempt and could not clear the Prelims round too. Soon after this in 2017, one of her friends introduced Nupur to the IB exam as she never had a Plan B in her bucket. Nupur’s friend filled the IB exam form for her and she went up for IB examinations, after clearing the IB exam in 2019 Nupur was offered a joining as an IB officer.
After her constant failure in the 5th attempt too, Nupur for one last time went for her 6th attempt to crack the IAS Civil Services exam and to her fortune, Nupur cleared the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2019 with a foremost 11th rank.
So, this was Nupur Goel’s success story which teaches us all to never lose hope and always try until we succeed at something.
