Coronavirus Update: 5676 new cases recorded in 24 hours, active cases crossed 37,000

With the resurgence of Covid-19 infections throughout the country, the prospect of a fresh wave has become unsettling. Many areas, including Delhi, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh, where coronavirus infections had been zero till a month ago, are now concerned about new cases of infection. According to Ministry of Health data released on Tuesday, 5676 new instances of Covid-19 infection were detected in India in the last 24 hours. With this, the country's active patient population has surpassed 37,000.

Over 37,000 active cases recorded

Less than 6,000 cases of Covid-19 have been discovered for the third day in a row. 5,676 corona cases were registered on Tuesday, according to Union Health Ministry’s data. The death toll has increased to 5,31,000 with 21 more dead. Kerala saw the most patient deaths with six, followed by Delhi, Punjab, and Rajasthan with three each, two in Karnataka, and one each in Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu.

14 people died on Monday

The death toll from the corona outbreak rose to 5,30,979 after 14 individuals perished on Monday morning. The weekly rate was 3.67 percent, while the daily positive rate was 6.91 percent. The total number of Covid cases has risen to 4,47,62,496 at the same period. Of the total infected, there were 0.08 percent active cases. The Corona recovery rate is 98.73 percent.
