Aditya L1: India Successfully Launches Sun Mission, Completes Second Earth-Bound Manouvre

Aditya L1 Mission: After the successful landing of India’s Moon Mission Chandrayaan-3, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched the country’s first sun mission Aditya L1. The launch took place on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 11:50 AM from Sriharikota. The solar mission includes seven distinct payloads for a complete study of the moon. According to ISRO, Aditya-L1 will not land on the sun or get any closer to it.

 

Aditya L1 Mission Updates

The Aditya L1 spacecraft has completed its second earth-bound manouvre today and is expected to complete the third on 10th September. While the mission is expected to provide the complete data for the next five years, scientists believe it might continue for another ten or fifteen years. This is India's second major mission after the Chandrayaan-3 lander module successfully landed on the moon's South Pole on August 23, 2023, with making it the first country to do so.
