Jamia Millia Islamia: ‘Free Palestine’ Echoed As A Clash Among Two Groups Disrupted Diwali Celebration

New Delhi:  A celebration of Diwali turned into a heated clash between two groups at Jamia Millia Islamia University, in New Delhi on Tuesday night. The videos of the same are now going viral on social media. 

‘Free Palestine’ Echoes 

The scuffle between the two groups broke out amidst the annual Diwali celebration on the college campus of the university organized by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The clash was initiated when a group of students allegedly triggered the Diwali celebration by ruining the rangoli making and breaking the lit lamps. Slogans of “Free Palestine” were soon exchanged with two groups of students engaging in a clash.

However, the university authorities were quick to contain the issue by immediate action and reached the spot and pacified the students. No complaint has yet been filed about the incident.
