US-based automobile company marque Jeep has spread out the new details about their upcoming SUV Meridian which they will be launching in the Indian market. They have officially unveiled Meridian through its social media platforms last month and have also announced that the new SUV would be produced at its Indian facility at Ranjangaon, Maharashtra.
Let’s take a look at its specifications
The Interior layout is almost as similar as that of the Jeep compass model but with three rows of seating and a brown colour theme. The Jeep Meridian have many features which includes a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen, 10.25-inch TFT instrument cluster, automatic climate control, wireless charging, powered tailgate, connected car technology, automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, dedicated AC vents for the second and third-row seats, power operated passenger seat and many more.
If we look at the exterior design, the silhouette is similar to the compass but with a slightly more upright stance. The SUV gets LED headlamps with integrated DRLs similar to Compass, a seven-slot grille, a muscular front bumper with a large air intake, LED fog lamps, side cladding with indicators and newly designed alloy wheels. Many believe it looks similar to the Brazilian market Jeep Commander.
The Jeep Meridian will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel motor producing 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual unit and a nine-speed torque-converter automatic unit. Also on offer is a 4x4 system.
The new Jeep Meridian will be offered in three variants including FWD MT, FWD AT, and AWD AT.
