Awez Barbar Biography: Awez Darbar is one of the six wild card entries on season 11 of the dance show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa judged by Farah Khan, Malaika Arora, and Arshad Warsi. Awez rose to fame with the rise of the video platform Tiktok. He became the most popular personality to have risen from Tiktok.      

Family & Education  

He was born in Mumbai on 16 March 1993. Awez’s family includes his parent, Ismail Darbar, a prominent Indian singer and composer famous for composing the melodies of ‘Hum Dil Chuke Sanam’ and ‘Devdas’ and Farzana Shaikh, and four siblings Zaid Darbar, Iman Darbar, Moonzarin Darbar, and Anam Darbar. Zaid and Anam boasts of 5.3 million and 2.7 million followers on their respective Instagram accounts. He has a bachelor's degree from the LTM college in Mumbai. 

Fame on Social Media 

TikTok was launched in India in 2017. The video-making platform provided a stage for budding or self-taught artists a chance to showcase their skills to a wider audience in a niche. Darbar was one such young talent when he started posting his dance videos on TikTok. He became the most popular TikTok celebrity in India with 22.3 million followers on his account. His account featured videos with many known bollywood celebrities including Priyanka Chopra and Nawwazudin Siddiqui.   

Currently, his Instagram account boasts 30.9 M followers, with accounts on other platforms like Snapchat, and Youtube. 

The highest-paid TikToker launched his YouTube channel in 2014 and posts his dance choreography on the channel with 12 M subscribers.   

Girlfriend 

Awez’s relationship with his long-time girlfriend Nagam Mirajkar has been in the public domain. Rumors of the couple’s break up and marriage have surfaced on the internet during the duration of their relationship, however, they were recently seen together. Nagma is a beauty and fashion influencer with 8.3 M followers on Instagram. The couple also featured in a couple of music videos including “Half Boyfriend” by Danish Alfaaz and Shriya Jain and ‘Tum Na Ho’ by Arjun Kanungo and Prakriti Kakkar.
